We lift up our prayers and give thanks for the beautiful life of Theresa. She was a wonderful friend, teacher, role m,odel, and community leader. The world has changed without her here…Theresa was a professional trainer and teacher and a backbone in the Friendship Centre Movement. She was a true friend to all. We love her greatly.

From: Christopher Sheppard
Relation: She was a great teacher

I keep thinking to when Senator Theresa Whiskeyjack was my elder during a gathering in Jasper.

She taught me so much, and continued to do so for the entire time I knew her.

I wish her family all I can during this time, as well as her Friendship Centre family for whom she has been a part of for so long.

From: Senator Winston Mcleod
Relation: Friend

Our love thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. Theresa was an inspiration and role model to many, and will be remembered with admiration, love and respect.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. – All of us at the Friendship Centre plan to do something special as a memorial to her contributions to the community and to the centre.

From: Melodie Wilton
Relation: friend/mentor

Theresa was the first person, outside of the Friendship Centre where I worked, who welcomed me into the Friendship Centre movement. That was 33 years ago. We would greet each other with “How are you doing, you old war horse?” The war is over for Theresa now. It was a battle well fought. I will miss her as a friend, a teacher and a mentor.
She deeply loved her family, spoke of them often, and will be desperately missed.

“Her work is done, her eternal rest begun.” Ever remembered, ever loved.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I send this message to the family of senator Theresa Whiskeyjack. Theresa was a great friend and a grandmother to all. She had a great love of her brothers and sisters and her community, we will miss her dearly around the senate table and throughout the whole Friendship Centre Movement. She had so much knowledge to share. I share the sorrow of her family and friends and pray that the light becomes stronger than ever. Nakummek – thank you, Senator Myrtle Banfield

My thoughts & prayers are with you at this difficult time. Theresa helped me immensely when I first started in the Friendship Centre movement in 1995. Theresa lived the values of the movement, she took me under her wing and shared her knowledge as she did with so many others. I am so grateful to have known her. Earth’s loss is heavens gain. I do apologize for missing her service as I had family commitments. Earth’s
