Obituary
On January 10, 2025 Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Onysyk of Sherwood Park, Alberta, formerly of Derwent, passed away at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her children, Kathy (John) Fedoriuk, Nancy (Mark) King, Kevin (Connie) Onysyk, Susan (John) Hunter & Keith (Shonna) Onysyk; 9 grandchildren, Jessie (Shelby), Devon, Brittany (Joe), Taylor (Joey), Lauren (David), Emma (Tyler), Maggie (Zane), Keaton (Kenna) & Kailey; great-grandson, Kayce; siblings, Mickey (Phyllis) Finn & Billy Finn; brother-in-law, Dan (Vicky) Onysyk; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Yaceyko & Susie Smithson; numerous nieces & nephews. Mrs. Onysyk was predeceased by her husband, Peter; parents, Jim & Jean Finn; father & mother-in-law, Mike & Anna Onysyk; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law & nieces. The family would like to thank Sherwood Care & The Royal Alexandra Hospital for the compassion & excellent care given to mom. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Derwent. Deacon Ken Noster will be officiating with interment in the church cemetery. Pat was such a beautiful and kindhearted lady! I have many fond memories of her and my Mom getting together and just having fun. They would have a cocktail, lunch and share stories and have a good laugh. I wonder what kind of mischief they were up to…
Pat was an amazing cook and I always looked forward to her delicious meals. Especially dessert!
I often wonder how it was like for her to be a young bride coming to Derwent. A sweet young American Irish girl setting foot in a small Ukrainian town. She did very well!
I will always treasure my memories with her…
