Mitch was born on June 2, 1956, the eighth boy born to a family of 10 children of Laurette & Phil Germain of St. Paul. He was raised in a large family, his upbringing was a sense of joy with many happy memories in a time that the joys came from just being together. It was a shock to me to learn of Mitch’s passing. My memories go way back to our early hockey days in St. Paul and in Chilliwack, BC. Oh, the great times and the laughs we shared over the years. Mitch was a tough guy, blended with hockey finesse – if you needed to get the puck out of the corner in the opponents end, send in Mitch – you can guess who always came out with the puck – yes, it was Mitch – wearing the biggest smile from a hockey battle won. Mitch was very special to many people and can never ever be forgotten. What a blessing to have known him. Classy guy in every way. I am praying for everyone in Mitch’s family. You have my deepest sympathies.

We have many fond memories of growing up with Mitch on our family visits to St. Paul, and our visits and family reunions over the years. He was always the nicest gentleman, with a big heart that matched his big laugh and positive outlook on life. Mitch was very proud of his family, and was a great friend to all. Rest in Peace Mitch.
