Obituary
On August 4, 2011, Mrs. Jean Machney of Myrnam passed away at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her 2 sons, Gary (Sharen) & Dennis (Jackie); 7 grandsons & 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Annie, Pauline & Katie (Harry); 2 sisters-in-law, Mary & Olga. She was predeceased by her husband Joe; son, Bobby; daughter, Rita; parents, Nick & Anastasia; brothers, Steve, Mike, Harry, Johnny; sister, Mary. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Elks Hall, Myrnam. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Slawa. Reverend Father Wasyl Sapiha officiating with interment in the church cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Myrnam Parents for Play c/o Box 1780, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
I have fond memories of visiting Uncle Joe and Aunt Jean at their farm when cousin Rose Misanchuk and I spent the summer working in the cafe in Myrnam. Good times.
The picture was taken in 1977 at my mom and dad’s (Joe and Rose Kaminsky) 25th anniversary.
