Obituary
On February 17, 2024, Mr. Fernand “Glenn” Couillard of Edmonton, formerly of St. Paul, passed away at the age of 64 years. He is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne (Dakota) Longjohn; 3 grandchildren, Ty, Dawson & Sydney; mother of his daughter, Doris; biological mother, Sophie Maglione; 2 sisters, Darlene Couillard-Heiniger (Hans) & Joanne; biological siblings, Charles (Jana) Robertson, Carmine “Sonny” Maglione Jr. (Sandy), Wanda Cardinal & Cathy Cardinal (Chip); nephews & nieces, Shane (Veronica) Pomerleau, Nicole Crier (Scott), Shantelle Pomerleau (Shane) & Travis Couillard; aunts, Mary Metchewais (Gord), Lillian Youngchief & Gloria Half (Stanley); numerous great-nieces & great-nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Fernand & Genevieve; biological sisters, Sheryl Maglione & Jackie Cardinal; niece, Jessica; brother-in-law, Russel Bruvold; uncles, Gordon Youngchief & Carmine Maglione Sr.; numerous other aunts & uncles; close friend, Bernie Lavoie. Visitation of Family & Friends will be held on Friday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Viewing & Final Respects will be held on Saturday, February 24 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Andrew Schoenberger will be the celebrant, with interment in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lafond. Sending my sincere condolences for all of Glenn’s family. I grew up with my cousin Glenn. I was 10 years old when my auntie Genny brought him home as a baby. I used to go help auntie often. As a teenager I babysat Glenn many times. Thoughts and prayers..

Dear Darlene, Joanne, and all your extended family. Glenn was a gift to each of us. I had a beautiful chat with Glenn at Aunt Jenny’s wake. We hugged and wept together. He loved us all. Jesus wept, at Lazarus’s death, but Lazarus was raised to life. Only believe! Psalm 23 Love you all so much! May the Lord comfort you, and give you peace.
