Denis LEVASSEUR

Obituary
It is with our deepest sadness that our hero, Denis Joseph Levasseur, age 66 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday April 21, 2019.
On any other Easter Sunday, Denis would have gone to Easter Mass with his wife of 45 years, Suzanne and his four boys, Corey (Michelle), Jamie (Natalie), Rob (Kristie), Rick (Sarah) and his 11 grandchildren (Brandon, Paige, Sydney, Kaley, Addison, Payton, Camden, Brielle, Charlotte, Cole, Paisley). He would have been outside playing with his grandchildren on the farm, taking them on quad rides, playing anti-i-over and finishing a few chores with a shadow of kids close behind. Denis would have helped prepare the Easter meal, mixing drinks for his boys, carving the turkey, and mashing the potatoes. He would have ended the day of festivities playing cards, listening to music and making sure everyone was happy and felt his love.
Denis spent his lifetime making sure his family and his friends were taken care of by lending a helping hand at any given moment, or making sure he sat down for a beer and a visit. He had such pride, admiration and love for his 3 brothers, Roland (Darce), Louis (Paulette), Paul (Diana); 2 sisters, Rose (Denis), Carmen (Doug) and many brother and sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins. We are at peace knowing he is now re-united with his parents, in-laws, and other loved ones.
It is our honor to invite you to join us for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Cathedral, to celebrate the life of our hero, Denis. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please bring the family beer and clam…or please make a small donation to one of Denis’ favourite charities, The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation or Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
