Rita was a delight to know!! I met Rita at Sunnyside Lodge a little over two years ago. I work in the activities department and Rita was always in attendance for card bingo, and for a while attended our fitness classes. She liked to go shopping with the ladies when our van was in motion. I always enjoyed my morning chats with Rita in the dining room, as well as my in room visits, she was always so excited to show me her tomato plants. Rita was an expert in this field, and gardening was her passion. She enjoyed planting and tending to her garden box at Sunnyside Lodge. I also enjoyed Rita’s sense of humour!! She could make me laugh and that’s a special gift. She also wore the colour red very well! I am glad to see she is wearing red in her obituary picture, she looks radiant. I will miss seeing her around Sunnyside.
My husband, Rick, the maintenance man at Sunnyside Lodge, said he will miss seeing Rita in the hallway early morning. He would always meet her when he was on his way to do his morning checks in the building, they would chat and joke around, there was always a good laugh. A very pleasant morning start. He will miss seeing her as well.
May you all find comfort in your memories and support one another through this difficult time of grieving.
