On September 29, 2024, Mr. Maurice Matthew Lee Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 36 years. He is survived by his mother, Doris Cardinal; father, Morris Kahpoonapit; 2 children, Jayla Cardinal & Glissen Monias; siblings, Moses, Jayden, Layla, Cassius & Aleah; spiritually adopted siblings, Nathan, Blair, Marcellus, Malcolm, Cheyalla & Ocean; numerous aunties, uncles & cousins. Maurice was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Nancy Cardinal & Percy McGilvery; papa, Romanivich; sister, Cheyenne; uncle, Roger. A Wake will be held on Saturday, October 5 (Leaving Grace Gardens at 3:00 p.m.) & Sunday, October 6 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre. Pastor Mavis Giant will be officiating, with interment in United Church Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
