On June 4, 2024, Mr. Matthew Tanouye of Edmonton, Alberta formerly of St. Paul, Alberta, passed away at the age of 47 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; 2 sons, Logan & Kadence; mother, Nita (Larry) Windiuk; in-laws, Eugene & Judy Lesyk; 2 brothers, Greg (Janis) & Michael; sisters-in-law, Lori (Robert) Martin & Sheena (Michael) Maxwell; nieces & nephews, Ethan, Isaac, Dylan, Shelby, Ethan, Gavin, Aiden & Madison; Baba, Jean Lesyk; numerous relatives & friends. Matthew was predeceased by his father, Gerard; brother, Jimmy; Gido, Bill Lesyk; Baba, Zenia Haraba. A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Paul. Reverend Father Bohdan Nahachewski will be officiating with interment in the church cemetery. Those wishing to view the service online may do so by clicking the Live Service tab above. It’s really hard to say goodbye for good, my friend!!!
Every time I whistle along with the 60s,70s, and 80s music at work, I’ll be thinking of you but also dearly miss your part too!!!
Your cheerful support on really tough days, seeing the positive in the negative, not being afraid to stand up for us, and often brightening our days, will remain a part of the story at our workplace that could never be erased, by anyone.
I wish you and your family had a lot more of the camping trips you were thinking of, and I am crushed that we are losing you so so very early, but I will think of you, somewhere out there among the stars, whistling away!!!
