Condolences to the whole family. He was a true friend. I worked with him, taught his children, spent many hours at Whitney Lake at swimming lessons. Laverne was always positive a great positive influence on many many lives. He will be missed by many.

From: Paul Emile and Gladys Boisvert
Relation: Long-time acquaintance.and colleague as teachers.

Our most sincere condolences to Laverne’s family. May knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many help ease your sorrow as you mourn his passing. Laverne always was the spirit of the community ready and so willing to help those who need help. I first met Laverne in the mid-50s on a baseball diamond in St. Paul. It was the tournament for the high school trophy… Laverne was then attending HS in Ashmont and he and the Lawton brothers made short work of us in that final game. Later on sharing a common profession as teachers we regularly enjoyed such pleasant conversations with him. Rest in peace dear friend.

Lavern was my teacher in grade 7,8 and 9. In 1963 when Kennedy was shot he told us after lunch. We all cried.
He was so kind and such a good teacher that we all wanted to do our best. No one failed that year.
I taught at Heinsburg for a year before heading out to Norway.
Whenever I visited my family the Glambecks, I always managed to have a visit with him. Will never forget how skillful and inclusive he was with children.

Mr. Wilson was a legend in so many ways. From being our bus driver and later becoming our principal at FG Miller. Mr. Wilson was one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. I’ll continue to cherish the positive memories and positive energy he shared with all he crossed paths with in life. May his legacy live on. Heaven gained a true angel!

Relation: colleagues and friends

Doris, Janet, Trevor, Leanne and families,
As you know, Laverne was a great leader. As the principal in Heinsburg School and FG Miller School, and in the community, he taught us the most important lesson – education isn’t about what you know, it’s about the relationships that you build; that people matter. Laverne always had time for a visit to share local history, discuss community matters, or listen to others’ stories. He was respected because he showed respect. As a mentor, a colleague, and a friend, Laverne will forever remain in our hearts.

From: Adrian Kiss
Relation: Taught under Laverne at two different schools.

My deepest sympathy to you Doris and your family. Laverne’s happy and positive nature was constant. He was always ready to help so many with so many things at seemingly any time. As a mentor and a colleague he was truly one of the best ever. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Thank you Laverne for all. God Bless You.
