We are saddened by the loss of Uncle Johnny. This photo depicts him perfectly – a look of scheming and up to no good. Our sincerest condolences to all of you. May you find solace in knowing he is in a better place and reunited with Auntie Mary. Maybe now he can find out what happened to the booster cables.
Love to you all, Len and Twila

From: Lawrence (Larry) Bodnar
Relation: Neighbour when growing up.

John Hupka was our neighbour when I grew up on the farm in the Barich area. I moved to BC after school so saw him and his family infrequently but often heard about him. He was affectionally referred to a the “Mayor of Barich”. He was always a joy to be around. Because of his humour, there was always a laugh about something. He was a very hard worker from humble roots and was always ready to help with anything. My wife Cheryl and I visited with John and Adeline in 2019 and we are very thankful for the time spent with them. May he now be in peace.

From: Nick, Heather, Rochelle & Chad Demchuk
Relation: Second cousin to Nick but always Uncle John to Nick and family

Adeline, Alvina, Leonard, Leona, and families:
Your dad was such a wonderful person. We will always be grateful for the memories we have of him, the weekend visits at the farm, playing crib or rummy past midnight, his way of having fun with words with his own version of “pig latin”. He was an honourable man, very strong physically but also of strong character, principles and common sense, compassionate, quick witted, loved to hear or share a joke but at the same time knew where/who the anchor was. He was familiar with the words “ I dont know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow”.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Hold tight to your memories. They will keep your loved one close for the rest of your days.
Blessings from Nick, Heather, Rochelle and Chad Demchuk, Edmonton
