Obituary

On October 2, 2016, Mr. Alexander “Alex” Whiskeyjack of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Helen; children, Cynthia (Winston) Lapatak, Ricky (Tracy), Jason (Mary) & Conrad (Mavis) all of Saddle Lake; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Josephine Cardinal (Whiskeyjack) of Saddle Lake, Julia Alexander & Alexina Alexander both of Enoch, Theresa Sapp of Little Pine, SK., Eliza Paskimin of Sweetgrass, SK. & Violet Whiskeyjack of Saddle Lake; numerous nieces & nephews; best friends, Louie & Gloria Moosewah. He was predeceased by his children, Christina Abraham, Darrell Mooeswah & Roy (Janet) Whiskeyjack; parents, Joshua & Mathilda; brother-in-law, Elmer Thomas Abraham; sister-in-law, Charlotte Whiskeyjack; siblings, James, Benjamin, Jenny Paul, Regina Cardinal, Albert, Donald, Christine Daniels & Ida Cardinal; granddaughter, Angel. A Wake will be held on Tuesday & Wednesday, October 4 & 5 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake (Leaving Grace Gardens at 3:00 p.m.). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Reverend Robert Wright will be officiating, with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake. To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
